The Starry Night Color Scheme

If your interested in creating a new color scheme for a room, but don’t want to use color wheels or color theory, a great way to choose colors is to use colors from a piece of artwork.

Artists spend many hours cultivating the color scheme for a painting. Choosing your colors this way creates an harmonious color scheme and is fun and easy.

In this example, Van Gogh’s Starry Night is used as the color palette for the room. Soft shades of cream and yellow are picked up from the moon and the blue of the sky is used as a base color.
